You can export your trained model from Domino to an external provider for hosting. This is referred to as an Export.
To export models:
Domino supports exports to Snowflake only from the application. If you want to export to other external providers, use the /v4/models/buildModelImage endpoint.
When exporting a model to Snowflake, you must include the following in the Export:
A list of dependent packages in
A user-defined function (UDF) that you created in Python.
The model will be published to the Snowflake instance through Snowpark.
Snowflake models can perform in-database scoring which means the model performs computations at the data’s location rather than retrieving data from the database and running it through the model. By processing data in-place, your models perform faster and cost you less than they would if you transferred large amounts of data between systems.
You can use Domino to monitor the models that were deployed to these external providers. You can even monitor models hosted on external providers that were not deployed by Domino. To do this, configure the external provider as a data source. See Connect a Data Source.
