Azure deployment architecture

This topic describes the architecture for a Domino deployment on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). AKS is hosted on Azure When you deploy Domino to AKS, you must have the following services and components:

A map of the Azure architecture you’ll need to set up a Domino deployment

Runtime platform
  • A: AKS cluster deployed in three Availability Zones (AZ), version 1.21, with an Analytics workspace for control plane logging.

Node/instances: virtual machine scale set
  • B: Platform nodes: Node pool (4-6) Standard_D8s_v4, 128GB root disk.

  • C: Compute nodes: Node pool (variable size) Standard_D8s_v4, variable root disk.

  • D: GPU compute nodes: Node pool (variable size) Standard_NC6s_v3, variable root disk.

Storage
  • E: Shared filesystem and datasets: Azure Storage Account.

  • F: Backups: Azure Storage Account.

  • G: Environment and model image: Azure Container Registry.

Networking
  • H: Ingress load balancer: Standard SKU (Azure Load Balancer).

  • I: Cluster network: Azure Virtual Network with a subnet with 65536 IP addresses (/16 subnet mask).
